On Monday afternoon when I showed up to pick up Miss Thing from school, her teacher, Miss Ashley, proudly told me that Lydia had not used her diaper (for pee) a single time that day.
Yay!
But what now? (Reason #5,001 why I love Lyd's school: they tell me what to do...and hold my hand while I'm doing it. And potty train my kid. Yes! I have no shame admitting this either. None.)
NOW we're in cold turkey land. No diapers (except at night). Only pull-ups (in the car--I can't handle an accident in the car), and panties.
Yesterday was day #1.
It went FABULOUSLY well...
...until we got home.
Girlfriend just will not go potty at home. Will not. Refuses. Lies. Asks for a pull-up. No amount of ice cream, candy corn, stickers, or love will coax a potty break from her at home. Pee outside on the patio? Sure. In the potty? Hahahahahaha.
So this morning when we arrived at school, we were making the switch from a pull-up to panties, and she tells me point blank that she has to go potty.
are you serious?! we hadn't been in the door for longer then a minute, and now she decides that she can go?
I think it's the mini potties.
So what's a Mom to do? Other then install a real, porcelain mini potty, of course?
(Please note this is in no way a rhetorical question. In fact, it is the opposite of a rhetorical question.)

Uhh...you failed to mention that she went #2 all on "Mini" last night. But I am glad that she went potty once she got to school.
I think it's unfair how unfun potty-training is for girls... boys get those fun toilet discs to aim for! We get nada!
However, everyone I've talked to says girls are much easier and much younger to train (because we're awesome;) so just enjoy the fact that Lyd is barely 2 and is already using the potty!! That's fantastic!
My girl is nearly 3 1/2 and she just decided she would potty train about 2 months ago (Yes, she is a stubborn redhead). It's been a struggle. She refuses to use the regular toilet at home. It has to be her potty chair. She uses the mini toilets at school though. Still can't get her to go #2 anywhere but her diaper. She is in diapers at night and a pull up during rest time at school.
I read a tip a week or so ago that said when you are potty training you should try to make sure that their feet are flat on the floor/stool/whatever because that engages the pelvic muscles.
